        My name is Ludger Brinkmann. I am an energy engineer and energy consultant with more than 30 years of professional experience. In addition to projects in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia as well as Germany, I have a particular focus on projects in the “eastern hemisphere”.

        Specialist in district heating with projects including in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

        Throughout my career, I have delivered many projects related to the establishment of district heating systems in various cities throughout the world – primarily in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, including in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan as well as the rest of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union – generally the Russian-speaking countries.

        Recently, I have also dealt with PPPs (public private partnerships) within the energy sector, where a private actor enters into a long-term agreement with a public institution regarding the operation and modernization of district heating systems.

        My experience

        ​In countries such as Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Norway, I have prepared a large number of studies for DH companies, and as a project manager I have completed a number of construction projects successfully.
        I also have a long track record with tasks for development bank-financed DH projects in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. I am fluent in Russian and have in-depth knowledge of the challenges of DH system modernization in these countries.
