Energy consultant and engineer with more than 30 years of experience
My name is Ludger Brinkmann. I am an energy engineer and energy consultant with more than 30 years of professional experience. In addition to projects in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia as well as Germany, I have a particular focus on projects in the “Eastern Hemisphere”.
Throughout my career, I have delivered many projects related to establishing district heating systems in various cities around the world – primarily in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, as well as the rest of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union – generally the Russian-speaking countries.
More recently, I have also worked with PPPs (public-private partnerships) within the energy sector, where a private party enters into a long-term agreement with a public institution regarding the operation and modernisation of district heating systems.

I am a district heating expert and energy engineer with many years of experience and an extensive CV behind me. In addition, I have a deep technical understanding, and I can speak several languages at a high level. That is why I am available for assignments in various regions of the world.
I have a long track record of assignments for IFI-financed DH projects in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. I speak fluent Russian and have in-depth knowledge of the challenges of DH system modernisation in these countries.
My experience as an energy engineer
I gained much of my experience as an energy engineer and energy consultant as an employee at a large Danish consulting firm, but I now offer my services as an independent part-time consultant.
I am based in Denmark and Germany, where, among other things, I am available to business clients and the public sector in Copenhagen, Zealand, Funen and the rest of the country when there is a need for an energy consultant or energy advice.
